🎉🏆 Two world titles for stations operated by RATP Dev at this year’s Prix Versailles!
We are extremely proud to share that Villejuif–Gustave Roussy in Paris and KAFD Station in Riyadh, both operated by RATP Dev, have been honored at the 2025 Prix Versailles, awarded in partnership with UNESCO. This international recognition places the two stations among the year’s most notable architectural achievements and reflects the work of the teams and partners who contribute to the quality of our networks each day.
In a standout achievement, Société des grands projets received the Grand Prize in the Passenger Stations category for Villejuif–Gustave Roussy, earning the highest distinction in the international competition. Operated for Ile-De-France Mobilités by ORA, the consortium we lead with Alstom and ComfortDelGro, the station will connect Lines 14 and 15 South of the Grand Paris Express and already improves access to the Gustave Roussy Institute for patients, families and researchers.
Designed by Dominique Perrault Architecture, Villejuif–Gustave Roussy features a glass-roofed pavilion and a circular atrium that brings natural light 50 meters down to the platforms. The jury noted the station’s architectural ambition, technical complexity and the way its design uses light, volume and metallic surfaces to create a clear and expressive interior.
We’re also pleased that KAFD Station in Riyadh received the Special Prize for an Exterior. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and operated by CAMCO - Capital Metro Company - كامكو - شركة مترو العاصمة on behalf of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City | الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض, it serves as a major interchange within the world’s longest driverless metro network.
Just 25 years ago, the Saudi capital had no public transport system. Today, KAFD anchors a 176-kilometre, 85-station network. Its selection recognizes the station’s engineering quality, its role in the network and the way advanced technology is integrated into an ambitious architectural project.
👏 Congratulations to our teams and partners, as well as to Société des grands projets, Île-de-France Mobilités and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, for these distinctions and for their work to advance sustainable mobility.
